If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd do less correcting, and more connecting,
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I'd run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging, and less tugging.
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more,
I'd build self-esteem first, and the house later.
I'd teach less about the love of power and more about the power of love.

TRADITIONAL COTTAGE PIE

 Sebab apa traditional cottage pie?  Sebab resepi pie ni yang ummi belajar direct dari kawan-kawan old ladies at Winderemere Court. Basically, masak lapisan daging tu dengan cara buat gravy... 

Oh, kalau guna lamb panggil shepherd pie la yer😇

ok kita terus kepada bahan-bahan.

500g minced meat

1 biji bawang besar

3 ulas bawang putih

*bawang dicincang

2 sb olive oil atau butter

2 sb corn flour

Mix veg

1 sb serbuk lada hitam

1 sk serbuk perasa hilal (1 kiub ayam//apa2 kiub)

kicap

sedikit rosemary flakes, mixed herbs

Sebahagian daripada bahan-bahan yang ummi guna


Cara:

Tumis bawang dan bawang putih, masukkan minced meat, biarkan sampai agak masak, masuk lada hitam, garam, serbuk hilal, kicap, mixed veg, corn flour bancuh sikit dengan air, biar seketika, tabur sikit rosemary flakes dan mix herbs.... biar mendidih, jangan overcooked sebab nanti banyak minyak.

Sudah masak, boleh masukkan dalam casserole

Untuk mashed potato:

1 kg potato

2 sudu butter

Fresh milk (lebih kurang 200 ml)

Rebus potato sampai betul-betul soft, bubuh sikit garam, buang air rebusan dan terus mash semasa panas bersama butter dan fresh milk. Selain fresh milk, blh juga guna cooking cream. Combine pun ok.

Kemudian, boleh terus masukkan sedikit-sedikit di atas daging tadi. Ratakan elok-elok, buat garisan guna garfu.  bila siap, sprinkle dengan chili powder dan parsley flakes.

Sedia untuk dibakar, 20 minit 160C.

Tersedia untuk dinner anak-anak

Begitulah my original cottage pie recipe.  Kalau tengok kat youtube banyak cara, ada yang guna rempah, mungkin sedap juga dan memenuhi citarasa melayu kann... tapi ini ummi punya resepi lah.  Alhamdulillah anak-anak sentiasa cakap sedap👍😋

Kakak dan kakcik pun suka buat cottage pie ni, so lain kali kalau nak buat lagi, buka saja entry ni.  Tak payah tanya ummi dah😍
